Welcome! My name is Sharon and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (a national certification of Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Oriental Bodywork). My clinic is The Phoenix & Dragon: Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Austin, Texas. I am so glad you are considering my Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine clinic as part of your healing journey.
A bit about me and how I got here:
I attended the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM) in Austin, Texas, where I earned my Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. The institution has been ranked among the top three Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) colleges in the country. TCTCM received this designation by Traditional Chinese Medicine World, which is a national newspaper that focuses on informing both healthcare professionals and their clients about TCM. I have also earned the designation of Diplomat of Oriental Medicine and am licensed by the Texas State Medical Board.
In 1995, I discovered the power of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine when I searched for an alternative to address a persistent headache that I had suffered with for over a year. Thanks to the use of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, my headaches were completely alleviated and I became a believer. What’s more, oriental medicine functions holistically—bring healing to the mind, body, and spirit—using Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine restored balance to my entire being. Other bothersome health conditions I was resigned to living with, such as allergies, fatigue, and premenstrual syndrome, were also relieved with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Experiencing firsthand the holistic and gentle efficacy of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I chose to make a career out of introducing others to these amazing healing modalities.
I am honored to have trained with Dr. Teh-Fu Tan, a master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and creator of The Balance Method. I use Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, along with the classic Master Tung Acupuncture, to treat my patients. These methods provide immediate positive results. With repeated treatments, my patients experience long-term relief.
The Phoenix & Dragon is located in the Timberline Office Condominiums at 2525 Wallingwood Dr. next to Zilker Park with easy access off Loop 1/MoPac. My office is in a beautiful wooded setting, over looking a lovely garden shaded by old live oak trees. The serene and natural atmosphere helps patients relax and let go, the best state for optimal healing.
It is my intention to give my patients the time and attention they need. To that end, I see only one client at a time, never double booking nor dart from room to room. I set aside 2-1/2 hours for an initial office visit to thoroughly cover all my patient’s medical history and listen to their concerns. The first visit does include an acupuncture treatment. Follow up visits are afforded 1-1/4 hour. If a patient has a new concern and needs extra time, an extended consultation time can be added.
I look forward the meeting you and assisting you on your road to wellness.
